Firefox Portable Installation Directory
I've installed the Portable version of Mozilla Firefox, latest version, to my USB drive, under the PortableApps platform. How do I get Firefox to automatically save things into its own Data directory on the drive, instead of on the host OS system? The drive gets assigned different drive letters across computers. Is there something I can do with the directory paths and percent symbols?
Thanks! |

Re: Firefox Portable Installation Directory
Hello. I saw your question, and decided to try this myself. i downloaded portable apps, just the platform itself., THEN downloaded the portable firefox from their site. I installed portable apps on my 8gb USB thumbdrive in a folder I made called Apps. I ran the installed startportable aps.exe from the apps folder and clicked "install new app" and installed the downloaded firefox portable.
So, with that done and firefox now showing up on my portable apps area, I launched it, brought up a forum, signed in, saved my password, and then bookmarked the forum. I closed portable apps, removed my thumbdrive, took that thumbdrive to my other computer, the bookmarks were still there in portable firefox. I bookmarked a page on my other pc, then closed potable apps, removed the thumbdrive and put it back in my current pc, that bookmark was there as well. What data are you saying isn't being saved to the USB and is being saved to the host PC? Oh, I also installed a add-on to firefox before i tried it in my other pc, and it said that the add-on was there when I moved the thumbdrive to the other pc.
