Cannot connect to Youtube, Photobucket, imageshack...

All of a sudden I can't access youtube, photobucket, imageshack, and generally sites that let you access uploaded videos or pictures.
If I attempt to go to the home page of the website, it simply starts loading, shows a blank page for a while and eventually states that the connection failed.
I've tried:

Disabling all my Addons
Clearing my cache, cookies etc.
Changing my security and privacy settings
Checking that it is not blocked in any way

All to no avail. I can access the same websites fine through IE7, but needless to say it's more than slightly awkward having to have a whole new browser open just to see a single video/picture and whatnot.

My internet provider is BT, and I do not have regular connection issues, although recently there was troubles with the local DNS server which caused issues with connecting to most internet webpages. That situation was seemingly resolved, though.
