Firefox not launching

Re: Firefox not launching

I have had the exact same problem as you have.

The computer is a laptop, with Vista on it. I loaded some software and erased some files in the temp folder and now, Firefox won't launch. The software (genealogy -- PAF and FTM) I loaded is on two computers that I have, and Firefox works great.

I have tried to launch Firefox from the icon on the screen, the shortcut in the start menu, the list of programs that Vista brings up, and the exe file in the Mozilla folder.

In all cases, it will not launch, but Task Manager does show it active in the processes list.

I have deleted Firefox and reloaded it, I have defraged the computer and run Disk Scan, all to no avail.

Also on the computer are Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and both work fine. However, the computer's owner (a colleague) would really like Firefox to work.

Any other suggestions?

John Joseph

Re: Firefox not launching

Hi,

Welcome to TSF!!

I haven't had a lot of issues like this but I would recommend that you both the genealogy software and firefox with Revo Uninstaller this is a free program that looks for registry entries and deletes them too. Then try installing Firefox first, and make sure that it is working if it isn't working then we know that there is another problem. If it does work then install the genealogy software, and see what happens.

Cheers!
