[SOLVED] Firefox is not remembering passwords?

I've been cleared by the mal-ware thread by the way. So Whenever I click remember me (Like on this site) It should remember me right?
But that's not the case with my firefox. Whenever I close the browser window and go back to this site then it doesn't save.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

You need to have cookies enabled for the 'remember me' feature to work.

Backup your bookmarks and profile with MozBackup, then uninstall and reinstall Firefox.

Ok, I created your a backup file but could you give me some information on how to use it when I uninstall firefox?

After backing up, follow the instruction in the mozillazine link to fully uninstall, then reinstall the latest version of Firefox. Run Mozbackup again and select 'Restore a profile'.

WOT

I'm not sure if no script allows cookies or not.

NoScript and WOT don't block cookies. I don't know about your other addons, but check the options in all addons and all your security software.

Nothing that says blocking cookies.

I don't know if this matters but I have edited about:config before Do you know anything in there that would stop the saving of passwords?

Possibly. It depends on what changes you made.

Try going to a site that requires cookies with another browser like IE, Opera or Chrome to see if they are working. This will rule out Firefox, so we can start looking at your general internet options and other programs.

What security software do you have installed?

I've tried my chrome and it will save passwords, and for the changes I have made I just followed instructions on firefox tweaks and things like that just to make it load faster. As for security software i have Outpost firewall and Avast!

If you've tried Mozilla's advice, checked the options for your addons and your security software settings, and reinstalled Firefox, I don't know what else to suggest. Hang on for some more replies.

All those bold user set entries should have been set back to default when you reinstalled, unless you reapplied them.
