Can't view images and other content

Hi there. When it comes to computer programs and whatnot i'm a bit of a noob so if this seems stupid please forgive me. Also i don't know if i'm posting this in the right place!!!

The problem is that a couple of days ago when i loaded up firefox my homepage which is google it appeared as normal but the "google" image wasn't there. I tried google images to see if i could view the images there but no images showed up. I don't mean that they didn't load, i mean that there was no space for them, like no images were supposed to be on that page. though the titles and links were still there but they were together with no image inbetween. this happens with videos as well.

The background of all websites is plain and there is no detail whatsoever. All i get is text and its arranged like it is on the mobile web. This also happens on Internet Explorer so it's not a firefox problem.( i didn't no where else to post!!!)

I recently installed mcafee security 2009 and i thought that that might be the problem so i uninstalled it but the problem still persists.

I hope i have been thorough enough. how can i fix this!!!!!... Please help

Re: Can't view images and other content

First things first..could you open a Firefox browser window then click tools in the menu bar..under tools select options in the options window select content tab and check and see if the check box that says load images automatically is checked or not...
Please post back with update...

I would have guessed it was Mcafee but you stated you uninstalled it and still have the same problem.. but did you do a system restart after uninstall of Mcafee?..

Also, check - View > Page Style

Then check it is set to 'Basic Page Style' and not 'No Style'

Re: Can't view images and other content

In Firefox even with "Page Style" set to "No Style" Google logo would load on Google homepage and be visible, also you stated you tried Google images and no luck, that also would show images even when in "No Style" mode...

Sorry, I missed this originally.

Have you checked your firewall(s), spyware progs and/or XP security? It sounds like you're preventing data from loading in browsers because of it.
