Yahoo Slow

Hi,

This one's interesting. I'll start with that I've updated my router to a wireless D-Link 610. Though I don't think that's an issue here I thought I'd mention it, cause after I installed it this started happening. The reason I dont think that's it though is because this computer isnt used much to net-browse, so it could be just a coincidence that I'm using it to browse now.

OK. I have 3 computers. Each computer has IE and Firefox.

Computer1 : XP SP2, Desktop, connected via Ethernet cable.
Computer2 : Vista Home Basic, Desktop, connected via Ethernet cable.
Computer3 : Vista Home Premium, Laptop, connected wirelessly.

Computer1 is the problem. Yahoo.com is the default start page on all computers. Note : Yahoo is graphic intensive (maybe something there). All computers load yahoo.com fine using IE. Computers 2 and 3 load yahoo.com fine using Firefox. Computer 3 hangs on yahoo.com forever.

For Computer3, Firefox, I've disabled all add-ons, removed the Yahoo plugins, version checked for the latest update, about:config and set some network.dns..something to do with IPv6 - I set it to TRUE to disable the IPv6 thingy, I've run a speedtest for the local ISP at their recommendation and everything checks out. I've cleaned/clear up/out the temp pages using the firefox options.

Computer 3, Firefox, Yahoo.com is the problem, but ONLY on Computer3 running Firefox. On Computer3, IE, yahoo loads fine and fast.

Note : The screen stays white while the status bar says "waiting for yahoo.com" or something like that. At the top of the browser I have the option to seach using Google, Yahoo, etc... So I search for "dog" while FF is waiting for yahoo, the search hangs (just like accessing yahoo.com), but a google search is almost instant (the results pop up without lag).

Strange one. 5 of 6 configurations load yahoo.com fine....the 6th configuration (comp3, firefox, xp sp2) doesnt work.

Help.

UPDATE : Submitting information to forums like this post is extremely slow too. Odd cause for two sites (techsupportforum.com and a mozilla forum) the pages load fine, but the posts I try to submit...the net hangs on "waiting for (sitename)" and never progresses...could this be related to yahoo problem? is there some sort of forms thing not working right common to all this?

Re: Yahoo Slow

The reason that things are taking a little while to post here is because we are still tweaking our new servers.
