Cant connect?

hey guys.
I can't seem to connect to 2 VERY important websites I need to download things from.
Other people can, I seem to be the only one having this problem..

Here's the links I can't connect to:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...a/dotnetfx.exe
http://g.live.com/1rewlive3/en/wlsetup-custom.exe

Those are both download sites, and I get This error when I try to load them..

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at g.live.com.
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at download.microsoft.com.

It's really annoying me and I NEED those 2 things! Please someone help :(

Thw installers are linked up to the sites as well, so mirror downloads dont work

Re: Cant connect?

Both of those links are for a direct download of a particular program. If that's what you're trying to do and it wont work from a single left click, do a right click and select 'Save As' to download to a folder of your choice on your comp.

If you're just trying to access the website, shorten the url to http://download.microsoft.com or http://g4.live.com

If it really is a server problem, it may just have been busy.

None of those links work either.
I can connect to live.com (which is Bing now)
And I can connect to Microsoft.com

but I can't connect to the downloads!

Re: Cant connect?

When I clicked on the links you provided in your first post, the downloads started immediately.

Are you saying they won't download for you with a straight left click or with the right click and 'Save As' option?

Am I right in assuming that it is the download function you want? Or are you just trying to access the websites.

Sorry Tonypyker, but it's late here and my heads a bit iffy right now! Back tomorrow though to catch up.
