Firefox Saved Passwords Recovery
I had to replace my son's laptop due to him spilling soda on the old one. Luckily, I was able to save the hard drive and it is now in a case and usable as an external hard drive.
He had a password saved in Firefox 3.0 that he does not know and needs in order to access a site for an online class. (There is no automated password recovery). Is there a file on the old hard drive that contains saved passwords and can be copied over to the new hard drive? |

Re: Firefox Saved Passwords Recovery
You can copy and paste the profile files from the old drive to the new profile on the new drive. You need to show hidden files, and folders first.
Go to Control Panel > Folder Options > View > Select "Show hidden files, folders" once that is done your firefox profile is located at: In windows 2000, XP - C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXX.default (XXXX will be a alpha-numeric name) Vista, Windows7 - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\XXXX.default To return the fresh install of firefox to the same settings as the old install (including bookmarks, passwords, etc) copy all files from old firefox profile, into the new firefox profile. |
