adres not found error for sites that are obviusly ok.

So a week ago i hit my modem causing me to go offline. when i connected it i was able to connect to only specific web sites. as the week has gone by this has been happening randomly and the only way i have been able to fix the issue is when i restart my computer. Its finally gotten bad enough where every time i go to yahoo.com i get this message and im no longer able to connect to my yahoo messenger. I also get this same exact page error every time i try to upload something to my facebook or my myspace. even when i restart i still cant connect. i need my messenger to talk to my family and my e-mail is just as important as anyone else. i have no clue what is causing this. Please help!!

What does the error message say? Have you tested the modem on another computer to see if it got damaged when you hit it? Have you tried a new modem?

i haven't tried a new modem or tested it on another computer so i will try that. the error im getting is that default "address not found" error. you know the one you get like if you opened a internet browser and you had no connection at all.
