[SOLVED] Firefox Already Running Query

Hi,

Has anybody ever come across an issue whereby you had a Firefox window open and, once finished browsing, you close it down (using the X at top right of screen), and after a while click on Firefox to start browsing again, and it says it's already running, so you can't open it.

This has happened to me a few times now, not frequently, but fairly regularly, perhaps once every 3 or 4 weeks. I simply end the process using Task Manager and am able to open Firefox again.

I'm certain it's not malware related as my McAfee scan is clean, and I regularly run Kaspersky online scanner, which is clean too.

Sound familiar to anybody?

Hi,

Yes this is a regular thing to have happen. I have had this happen a few times. I would recommend that you open Task manager by right clicking on bar at the bottom. Then choose task manager. After that you will want click on the processes tab, and look for firefox.exe. Next click on the end task and that should end it.

This should work for you.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. I do use Task Manager to end the firefox.exe process when this problem occurs but I just wanted to know if it was a known issue with Firefox.

Judging by your similar experience it sounds as though it is.
