I need adobe flash player but I can't or don't know how to shut down Firefox so it will install

Download Adobe Flash Player from http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie (the official Adobe site can be very slow to download from).
Close Firefox (File/Exit or the red X button in the top right of the window). Run the file you've just downloaded to install Flash Player. When it's finished, restart Firefox.
