[SOLVED] "Manual proxy configuration" to speed up FireFox load time
A "manual configuration" is supposed to speed up the time it takes for FireFox to load.....
Start Firefox3 and go to Tools Menu >>> Option >>> (in the new window) chose Advanced >>> Network Tab >>> (in connection Table) press Setting button >>> (in the new window) chose Manual Proxy Configuration >>> type in the HTTP Proxy Field: 127.0.0.1 >>> and Port: 0 >>> click OK >>> click OK >>> restart your firefox3 What exactly is happening with a "manual proxy configuration"? Is anything compromised or would any functionality of the browser be lessened by configuring a manual proxy configuration? Why doesn't FireFox have it set like this to begin with if it causes a faster start up? Last edited by Blade_Jones; 05-26-2009 at 10:32 PM. |

Re: "Manual proxy configuration" to speed up FireFox load time
"Crashing" is a way to put it.
Firefox is a very well made browser, actually, it's the best browser to date, and it will probably always will be with it's efficiency and reliability - adding extra appendages to it's already powerful overload (add-ons, themes, etc) will cause crashing, and these little tweaks are simply there to get the person who made the "tweak" get lots of views on his YouTube page... nothing can make it go faster unless you do it strategically and use add-ons such as Adblock Plus or NoScript, those disable things that take a long time loading, thus increasing your speed the natural way. HTH. |
