[SOLVED] Juno dial up -- drop out -- H E L P !

Having a problem. It seems to have started not to long ago. I use Juno Dial-up and usually log on at 28.8 and Firefox works fine.

My problem; when I'm connected to the Internet and run a program that wants to connect as soon as I run it - a Windows Dial up Connection box comes up and wants to do a connect? I'm already connected! Then Juno drops the line and disconnects.

I get this if I go to open a .pdf file while on line with Adobe v9.1. I set the preferences in Adobe not to check for updates but it still causes the above problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Juno dial up -- drop out -- H E L P !

Hi Tommy, welcome to TSF

What security software do you have installed? Is it up to date and always enabled?

You might be infected with a dialer, so run some virus and spyware scans.

Have you contacted Juno?

When it tries to redial, does it use the correct phone number for Juno or a new number you don't recognise?

Is your Adobe software fully patched? There have been some security problems with Adobe Reader over the last few weeks.

Re: Juno dial up -- drop out -- H E L P !

Hi there:

Juno just got back to me, they told me to go in IE - tools - connections, and pick "do not dial connection".

It seems Juno software takes care of that part of the dial up.

It worked.

But thank you for your help anyway -- it's appreciated.
