[SOLVED] Transfer Settings in Firefox to Another User?

Hi,

Quick question here:

Is it possible to transfer settings that I have for firefox in my user (like themes, extensions, saved passwords, favourites...etc.) to another user on my computer?

I am using Firefox 3 and have Windows XP SP3

You can try this but i don't think it is possible to transfer saved passwords

ok, thanks but where is the default profile stored for firefox?

If you're using XP, the Firefox profiles are stored in a hidden folder, so open Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > View tab and click 'Show hidden files and folders'.

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\

Or you can use a utility like MozBackup to automate the whole procedure, including backing up passwords. Details here.

ok so if i was to use MozBackup and created a backup file, would I then just have to move this backup file to another user and open it it there to be able use the settings and other stuff I have for firefox in this user?

After you've made a backup and saved it to CD or USB drive, run MozBackup on the other computer and select 'Restore a profile'.
