Cannot Geton Firefox At All!!!!

Ok this is what is happening, i click on desktop icon for firefox to begin surfing the web, well the page will not even come up, the mouse will get the little hourglass like it is goig to load but then doent. So i tried to go to the safe mode firefox did same thing, i tried to change the profile it woulnt even come up there either. I have done many things other forums have said to do but nothing, i even checked to if it is still running but hidden nope not that, so i removed it and downloaded it agian reinstalled and nothing. I am using internet explorer right now but we want our firefox back. We are using 3.0.5. Need help!!! Oh yeah when i click on it and it does nothing no boxes pop up to tell me system faliure or firefox has to close, this is just confusing...THANKS
