Failure to Connect
Hi, a few days ago I seemed to have been infected with virtumonde. After some surfing I found malwarebytes which seems to have removed all traces of the virtumonde. But now I have this problem where I cannot connect to the internet via Firefox nor IE. Strangely enough I still seem to be able to connect to my AIM. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thank you.

Re: Failure to Connect
oh I forgot to mention, I couldn't log onto the internet anymore shortly after the virtumonde had infected my computer, so I had to use my friend's computer to obtain the software to remove the virtumonde. I hope that helps to discern my situation.

Well I've been having some problems with Firefox today and I tried restoring my computer to yesterday's settings, go to
Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore->Next->**Select a Restore Point [Click on the day before you updated Mozilla Firefox]->Click Next->Click Restore and it will automatically restart your computer do not press anything else. It may take a couple of minutes. Restoring your computer is like going back in time so to speak. Your computer will be in the exact same state as it was the date in which you choose. Don't worry THIS CAN BE UNDONE. Just go back to the same place and click undo last System Restore (though you shouldn't find any need to). This method has worked for me several times as a quick-fix for times when my computer has crashed or I've downloaded things that have messed up my computer. Try restoring your computer to the day before the problems started occurring. Hope this helps! |
