missing browser colors and icons [moved from other browser]

this is the first time i've encountered this problem - colors and icons/commands are missing from my browser, whether i'm using IE or Firefox.
please see attached files to see what i mean about the browser problems.
i've reviewed and adjusted various settings in tools for both browsers as well as adjust settings in my pc's display controls. as you could see from the attached pdf files, mozilla homepage is mostly blank except for text. please help to restore colors/icons.
thanks.

Welcome to TSF!!!

Hi,

What extensions and addons do you have installed? Are there anything that blocks images, that might be causing the problem.

Cheers!

Hi,

Go to Tools -> Addons. It will show you everything that is installed on FF.

Cheers!

These are the add-ons: Adobe Acrobat, iTunes Application Detector, Java (TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition 5/0 Update 2, MetaStream 3 Plugin, Mozilla Default Plug-in and Quick Time Plugin. Yahoo Application State Plugin is listed as "Disabled".

Re: missing browser colors and icons [moved from other browser]

In addition, my windows display is not functioning properly. Perhaps it's a related problem -
From control panel / monitor display, when I choose "Windows Classic" to get a mono-color background (i.e.: blue), the display refreshes to white. It's as though the Windows Classic or the colors menu is disabled or missing. Any ideas?

Hi,

I would recommend that I would do all of your scans. If you need help with any of the scans or you don't think that you have a good enough scan you can take a look at Safety and Security-what do I need.

Cheers!

I've done all the scans already but nothing has changed. Other ideas? Thanks.

Re: missing browser colors and icons [moved from other browser]

Im having the exact same issue on my computer, and Im not sure what happened. No matter what settings I change in display (background, fonts, etc) icons are missing, and most web pages are un-useable. Ive also noticed that for some reason, Microsoft Office/Word 2003 and 2007 have been effected. For instance, on my spreadsheets where I had certain cells color coded (highlighted) everything is just white now, and the colors on the menu bar on top are skewed. Have you found a resolve to this yet?
