[SOLVED] firefox keeps me logged in when i close windows

I've searched high and low for an answer but everyone seems to have the oposite problem. When i close firefox and reopen it it keeps me logged in websites even if i don't have the passwords saved. Ive checked the settings and it is set to keep until window is closed. should i try a reinstall as this only started to happen when i updated recently.

Hi,

I think that you should try running FF in safe mode. This will allow you to use FF without any addons or extentions. If you are able to visit the website that you are talking about and then close FF and restart it and have to login each time then we can figure out why it isn't working with your regular FF. Since you said that you just upgraded, I would assume that you are using FF 3.x.x now.

nope same thing in safe mode. its like it doesn't reset or whatever when you close the browser it opens back up to the last page i was on and has me signed into the same web sites i logged into before.

o and yes im on 3.0.5

Hi
you can try this:
go to privacy settings, then change the "keep cookies until" setting to something else, then apply. then go to privacy settings again and set it back to "until I close Firefox". That will hopefully solve the problem. Also, please check that Firefox is actually clearing all the cookies on exit. (Restart firefox then go to privacy->show cookies, there should be none.)

i have tried the switching it thing that didn't work but it is not actively clearing the cookies as there is still a long list in the show cookies when i open firefox.

ok nm i just uninstalled deleting all data and customizations and reinstalled and it is working properly again im guessing it was something when i updated through the built in updater o well!
