Font Size

I'm using the newest version of Firefox on an XP system. I just installed a widescreen LCD and to me the font size on the tool bars is too small. I know how to change the font size for the web page, that's easy. Is it possible to increase the font size on the tool bars as well. Firefox doesn't seem to have an add-on for this. Thanks for any help.

Re: Font Size

Hi,

What size screen did you upgrade to, the bigger screen can make thing look different. Also, what resolution are you running at? If it is different than the last resolution that you had on your other monitor then everything will look different. For a rule the higher the resolution the smaller the icons, and the lower the resolution the the larger the icons, toolbars, etc.

Cheers!

Re: Font Size

I think the font and font size used on the Firefox toolbars (things like File, Edit, View, Tools, etc) are controlled by the system font details.

Start > Control Panel > Display > Appearance tab > Advanced button. Select 'Menu' from the Item dropdown menu, then set the font and size.

I found the settings you mentioned. As you said it only effects the top bar. The three bars I have underneath it are my main complaint. Firefox actually has an add-on for this, but it's designed for older versions of Firefox.. It's not a big deal but I'd thought I'd ask you guys. Thanks for the tip.

I went from a 19" 4X3 LCD to a 19" widescreen running at 1900 X 1440 Resolution. I haven't tried messing with the resolution yet. I'm always confuse by the Resolution issue. Lower resolution seems to increase text size, but I assume it's at the cost of lower picture quality. I will certainly take PQ over larger text. Other than these toolbars it seems most text on a PC is adjustable.

Re: Font Size

Make sure you're running the screen at its native res. Check the manual.

EDIT:Did you say 1900x1440??? I think the native res for most of the 19" widescreen monitors is 1440x900. Try that. Screens display best picture quality when set to their native res.

You're correct. It's 1440 X 900. I guess that means it's working just as it should. Thanks.
