Firefox start up

I am using Firefox 3.0 on XP-SP3.

When I first open Firefox it seems very slow and sometimes opens two copies, one of which is a blank screen.

The other goes to the Google Search page where it is supposed to be.

Is this quirk, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

I would start by doing a scan with all your av, spyware, malware, and adware scanners. Make sure the they are up to date. IF you need to get a copy of any of those please take a look at this thread. Only get one of each!! Run all those scans and see if you are still getting the double popup.
