Hi,

There is a relatively easy way of doing this. If you have some time to follow all of the steps that I suggest.

First you need to go to Ubuntu and download the .iso for Ubuntu. Once it is downloaded you will need to burn it to a livecd.
  • Go to Ubuntu
  • Download the .iso for the latest version

Burning .ISO files isn't the same as burning a regular cd. You need to have a burner that will handle .iso files. If you don't have one or aren't sure I would recommend CDburnerXP This is a free program and is very easy to use. Once you have it downloaded and installed you should burn a Data Disk. When burning the livecd I would recommend that you set the speed at 8x or 16x.
  • Go to CDburnerXP
  • Download the file for your computer
  • Install CDburnerXP
  • Create a Data Disk, set the speed to 8x or 16x.

Post back here when you have done all of that.

Cheers!

Hi,

Now you need to boot into the livecd and then go to the places menu, then down to the Computer menu. Form there you should be able to see your different partitions. Just click on the partition that your first XP install is on and then find your documents. Then put them onto a flash drive or save them to a cd, or some other type of media. Then you can just reboot your computer and you will be all set.
  • Boot into the livecd
  • Once GUI is open click on Places menu
  • Go down to Computer and click on it
  • Find your partition and click on it
  • Find your files and drag to the Desktop
  • Save to a flashdrive, cd, or other type of media

Cheers!
