Bookmarks menu

Hey everybody,
I work at comcast and normally I am able to figure out a multitude of problems. I have been working with a customer and they are having problems with the Bookmarks menu in Firefox and also the Favorites menu in IE6.

She can click on the menu, the drop down shows up along with her favorites/bookmarks. when she clicks on the desired favorite/bookmark, the drop-down goes away, and nothing even attempts to load.

i have been one of them "beings googling furiously" to see if any other reports have been brought up about this, but coming up empty handed.

Are there any folks out there that would know where to start on fixing this issue?

Thanks!

Re: Bookmarks menu

check the settings and see if its set to open pages in a new window. If so, see if theres any type of third party popup blocker utility running. Also try pressing the ctrl key as you click on the link to see if it will open.

One other thing to try, go into safemode with network and see if things work properly..

Thats all I can think of trying,

Re: Bookmarks menu

i do remember trying to right click - doesn't give any menu to try 'open in new window' or anything. don't get me wrong, i'm not exactly a novice when it comes to troubleshooting these things.

they weren't opening in new tabs or windows, i didn't find any popup blocker, and even so, a new website shouldn't be considered a popup. CTRL + click does nothing.

the only thing i can think of for my customer is that something is on the computer preventing it from working correctly. maybe some sort of background process or something?
