[SOLVED] Unable to enter certain websites but others can

Hello, i am having a problem with entering into other sites that are not down or under maintenance, like for example Firefox google (the default home page when you open the Mozilla Firefox browser). It's not only that site but other web pages i've tried to enter aswell.

I know all the websites are working properly as my brother can enter the sites and i've got friends that said they can also the sites. Obviously me and my brother run on the same internet line so i'm not able to figure out what the problem may be.

This isn't just on Mozilla Firefox, i've tried the sites on IE and they don't work either. This problem occured yesterday when i was foolishly searching for keygen's for Notron 360 after downloading some files i didn't trust them to install it so i deleted them after that i wasn't able to enter certain sites no more.

I have 5 days left on Norton 360 so i used it to scan my computer throughly, i also used another anti-virus software to scan my computer and it deleted a trojan that Norton didn't detect. after the scans i still wasn't able to enter the sites i've wanted to enter, i again did more checks asking my brother and friends and they said there working fine. I also tried using system restore but everytime i try to go back to an event before i searched for the keygens it always come up with "An unspecified error has occured", i don't know what the problem could be.

I've also tried to uninstall and reinstall Mozilla Firfox and it still doesn't work.

Can someone tell me what the problem may be and help me solve it?

Well if it doesn't work in IE either, then fiddling with Firefox probably won't achieve anything. See if an Adaware scan brings up something malicious. The virus scanners sometimes miss things that an adware scanner would find.

Also if you're now running a different virus scanner, get rid of Norton; multiple virus scanners don't play nice with each other.

I've solved the problem lol

I just backed up everything and wiped my computer clean and reinstalled Windows Vista

Everything is back to normal :D
