Firefox Reset

Does anyone know why occasionally my Firefox browser (3.0.1) sometimes resets certain aspects? Yesterday it reset my home page and undid some of the ad-ons. I thought maybe it was due to an update but this is the same version that I've been using. Is it web-wide or just me?

Are you using different user accounts on XP?

There is a guest account set up on my PC but it hadn't been used recently - not around when the occasional reset occurs. Funny, the new version of Firefox came out and it did not reset the home page after installation.
