[SOLVED] text on various websites are blurry

I've downloaded the most current drivers for my video card (X1600pro) and the text are still blurry. I go into the display area and adjusted the Settings to 32 bit and the screen size to 1680x1050 (I have a Acer 22 in LCD monitor). it's still blurry using either Firefox 3 or IE.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this issue? Even as I write this, the text is not very dark and crisp.

I should also say that I had to reformat my whole entire computer this last week. Before this, everything was fine.

thx

Re: text on various websites are blurry

Have you tried changing the monitor's Sharpness setting and any others related to image quality?

Is the monitor blurry when plugged into another computer?

Did the monitor come with a calibration CD?

Is it only text in Firefox that is blurry or all text including desktop, documents, etc?

Start > Control Panel > Display > Appearance tab > Effects button > 'Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts' > ClearType

Hell, we need to fire our whole Tech Department where I work. I talked to two guys today and they had no clue as to what to do. They talked about downloading video drivers, to switching out cables, to enlarging the Views on web browsers....I wasted so much time with these bozos. Nice guys, lots of education, but no clue as to solve simple problems.

I should have gone straight here....

Re: text on various websites are blurry

Drivers and cables would have been my first suggestions as well, so don't be too hard on your techs.

The problem with troubleshooting is that there are so many possible causes and solutions, especially as everyone is using different hardware with different configurations and setups. A tech can either go for the most likely solution based on the information provided or he can go through a list of possibilities until the solution is found.

Re: [SOLVED] text on various websites are blurry

I found this thread while trying to find a solution to my problem... It appears mine is slightly different, but hopefully someone subscribed to this thread may have some new advice.

I posted my problem here.

If anyone can help, please post solution here... or there, doesn't matter to me.
