Help ! ! !

Well recently out of nowhere my mozilla firefox just stopped working and i tried everything i could think of to fix it. I updated it to the newest version (since my old internet explorer works fine) and it still wouldn't connect to any web site. I looked at my firewall and Mozilla was allowed even then i turned it off and yet it didn't work. So just now i deleted it and reinstaled it and nothing. So please please please help my out i hate this old explorer. Thanks !!!

Re: Help ! ! !

norton internet security is a program that came with my computer (2006) and its the virus internet protecton thing and it wont open for me to change any settings on the firewall it has, i try opening it and the program freezes each time, so i tried deleting it and it wont let me do that either. As for the rest of it i tried it and they didnt work, it left the norton section as my only probable problem with it.

Re: Help ! ! !

deleting Norton? may be you mean uninstalling it. to uninstall Norton Internet Suite, try the utility from here (would require IE):

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...01090510510636

the utility uninstalls Norton Internet Suite 2003 through 2007.

Re: Help ! ! !

You can download trial versions of most AV apps - Kaspersky, NOD32, TrendMicro are examples. I think the trials are good from 15 to 30 days each. Try them out; by the time the trials end, you should have enough cash to choose a favorite and buy whichever you prefer.

Re: Help ! ! !

So does that mean you uninstalled Norton Internet Suite and now your system works as it should?

If you need an antivirus, well I use Avira Antivirus and AVG (on different systems) and I am quite satisfied with the two. These are FREE by the way. If you want to pay, qbawl has listed some for you.

Re: Help ! ! !

That there are good free AV apps is something I didn't even consider mentioning, Trigger, because the OP mentioned having Norton. You're absolutely right, though; I've used several of them myself in the past, and they worked very well for me (though not always quite so well when my sons used my machines at music downloading sites, etc. ).

Gregory, if you're interested in saving a few bucks, good free (and trial) AV apps can be found at the following (as well as a few other sites):

Download.com
