[SOLVED] Weird Internet Problem

Hi, I have been experiencing some-what of a strange problem for a while now. My computer has been unable to connect to some websites. For example..I cannot connect to Gmail.com. This hasn't been a problem until now because now I can't patch my Age Of Conan game because it won't let me connect to the server. I went to the AoC website and I could connect to it, but when I tried to log into my account I could not log in.

It seems that I can connect to most websites, but there are a few random ones that I can't connect to. Any insight on this would be great.

Thanks

Re: Weird Internet Problem

I should add that the other people in my family can connect to the websites on their computers.
One of them runs XP the other Vista..and they don't have any trouble.

Re: Weird Internet Problem

Hello Wheels, Welcome to TSF!

You need to include those 'favourtie' websites in your "Trusted Sites" listings; it is done this way...

From this Page...Go Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites > Untick Require Server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.
Now in the top box type in the full URL for the site/s that you want to include ( each address must include the www), hit Enter after each entry to have it included in your 'Trusted Sites'; when finished, just ok out of the Internet Options panel, and you're done.

You might have to close all Internet Explorer pages and re-open them for the changes to take effect.

Give this a try and post back with the success or failure of the experiment.

Kind Regards,

Re: Weird Internet Problem

Hey thanks for the response, however I am using Firefox.

Also, these are websites I used to be able to view.

And I actually don't physically go to the patch download website for the game, it downloads the patch using a client. The client can't get to the website, so I don't think the browser is related to the problem.

Re: Weird Internet Problem

Do you know if all the website that you are trying to get to are secure websites. Like when you go to http://www.gmail.com; you will be redirected to a website that is "https://". I believe that there is a setting in FF that will allow you to allow all those websites. I am going to look for it now.

Cheers!

Re: Weird Internet Problem

Yes that does happen to Gmail. I have been noticing that lately.

When I use Gmail in other places I don't think it makes it secure though.
