Re: firefox wont open
Try running firefox(safe mode) [ff usually installs another start menu entry]
If not then navigate to the firefox folder and run firefox with the command line parameter "-safe-mode"... (if you need help on that post back and i will post instructions)... If it works then i suggest taking a good look through plugins [they can be a big cause of ff crashes]... Though the error report mentions kernel32.dll and i'm unsure why that would cause an error(as it is the dll responsible for user-kernel stuff)... Cheers, Jamey p.s. you could try disable your firewall temporarily but i'm unsure if it would actually help in this situation |

Re: firefox wont open
Try what jamiemac2005 said to do. Also, try running a spyware and av scan. You might want to get Hijack This. This is a great program, and it is free. Then run the program and post the finding up here and we can see if we can come up with somethings to remove.
Cheers!

Re: firefox wont open
I downloaded Mozilla/Firefox and when I click on the browser whether the shortcut or in all programs it just won't open. I checked my set programs and defaults and added it to my "exceptions" regardinng my firewalll and security and it still doesn't open. PLEASE help! I am not REAL computer savvy, so, please keep answers as "simple" =) as possible. I sure would welcome the help. I used it on my last computer without any problems at all.
Thanks! And here's to Tuesday coming...haven't had a Monday like THIS is a LOOOONG time! lol KLSX54 |

Re: firefox wont open
It wont open? as in firefox doesn't show? okay, find out if it is actually trying to open or not:
- try open the task manager (ctrl+alt+del) - switch to the processes tab - Scroll down to the bottom - Now try and open firefox and take not of wether firefox.exe pops up in the processes tab Post back with your results... Cheers, Jamey |

Re: firefox wont open
Hey, i'm not sure we're allowed to help/advise you with HJT logs in this subforum, if you wouldn't mind posting this log in the "Hijackthis log help" subforum i'm sure someone can get back to you there(someone with better knowledge of HJT)...
Cheers, Jamey |
