Need to get a download of Thunderbird ver 1.8

I had to rebuild my Windows XP after a blue screen of death. When I went to reinstall Firefox, I found that version 2 was out and I need Version 1.8. I need that because I used MozBackup to backup all folders, user accounts, and saved mail. I have used Thunderbird as a database of emails for my business and really need to get the data back. Mozbackup will not restore to version 2.

Re: Need to get a download of Thunderbird ver 1.8 Part2

When I try to download from these sites, they pull up version 2 even though the link says version 1.8:

Thunderbird versions 1.5 to 1.8.20080 for various OS's: http://www.radarsync.com/software/s2...la_thunderbird

Firefox 1.8.1.14 for XP: http://www.radarsync.com/software/s2...irefox_browser

Re: Need to get a download of Thunderbird ver 1.8

This is the only other site I can find with old versions.

Firefox 0.8 to 2.0.0.14 (no 1.8): http://www.oldapps.com/firefox.htm
Thunderbird 0.1 to 2.0.0.4 (no 1.8 again): http://www.oldapps.com/thunderbird.htm

EDIT: According to their website, MozBackup is compatible with Firefox 1.0 to 3.0 and Thunderbird 1.0 to 3.0. It doesn't mention any problems with restoring from a 1.x backup to a new 2.x install.

The MozBackup file is .PCV which is actually just a ZIP file. You can rename the backup file extension to .ZIP and extract with WinZip or similar, then follow the instructions here to restore your settings, profiles, etc manually.
