I am using Windows Vista Home Premium and the Mozilla Firefox browser. After clicking on the Firefox icon in the taskbar it takes over a minute for the browser to open. Any idea what the problem could be?

Re: Firefox very slow to load.
Hmm it sounds random, could you try open firefox in safe mode? (firefox's safe mode not windows) and see if it is quicker....
Post back with your results Cheers, Jamey |

Re: Firefox very slow to load.
A minute sounds a bit long, but if you have a lot of extensions (add-ons) and themes installed, that could be a factor. Firefox does not store itself in memory as IE does. So when you open it, it starts from scratch, so to speak. You don't say what version you have. If you're using any Version 3, it's still in beta even though they are close to a public release since the latest is a Release Candidate.
There is a Firefox Pre-Loader that may help. You can read about it and link to the download from this article, if you want to give it a try. Speed Up Firefox Load Times http://www.tweakguides.com/Firefox_12.html |
