How do I make Firefox my default browser?

I thought it was, but now things are opening in IE.

In Firefox, Tools>Options>Main tab.
At the bottom of the tab, click the "Check Now" button in the section "System Defaults".
You should get a dialogue box asking if you want Firefox to be the default browser.

As of Firefox Firefox/3.0.x, I do not see a "System Defaults" in the Main tab. The "System Defaults" is now in

Tools>Options...>Advanced tab

"System Defaults" area is at the bottom of the page. Apply previous instructions from here.

To make Firefox as default web browser , follow these steps .

1 Open the Mozila firefox.
2 Go the Tools > Options > Advance > General > and under the system default Check the Check box to make firefox as your default web browser .
