Downloads stop working halfway

After trying to download something, I can get maybe 10-50% done with very excellent download speeds. Then, the downloads just completely stop for no reason. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Many things, what version of firefox are you using, can you pause then resume the download to get it going again?

What is it you're downloading? it could be the server cutting you off

2 ideas:
1) upgrade to firefox 3 beta 5 [if not already on 3b5] then if they stop working pause and resume them or stop then start them (firefox 3b5 enables you to close firefox and re-open it whilst downloading [and the download resumes])
2) use a download manager add-on for firefox (e.g. downthemall)

I'm using firefox version 2. And I when I resume the downloads after I pause them, the download information on them disappears.

Also, I'm using a download manager, but since that doesn't work for many sites (especially megaupload), I'd kinda like to know what's causing my problems and go back to regularly download things.

Hmm, if it is on every site/download then it isn't what i thought it was (server refusing to send after however long)... It could be your ISP cutting you off? i really don't know the problem...

As i said you could try updating to the latest beta and see if it's a bug that was fixed?

Has it always been like that or is this a recent problem?
