Firefox loses focus with Vista

My firefox browser loses focus while doing anything. I'll be typing an email & all of the sudden my find word bar is open, on the bottom of the browser, & I'm typing there. I have ad-block running & this happens even when no ads or banners are possible on the page. Similar problem with XP Pro, but power toys solved that.

what version of firefox and do you have any email addons installed?

Its version 2.0.0.14 & no email add-ons. I don't use an email app, these are just website emails, like at my school, or any site I can send email on.
