Firefox is Slow

These couple of days, Firefox 2.0.0.14 is running very slowly. When I click on a tab, it does not respond. To get it to switch between tabs, I needed to set the window to Maximum. Looking at You-Tube, I need to move the mouse in the browser window so it video moves. Web pages do not update. I need to move the mouse in the browser window so it goes to the next web page.

I have tried emptying the cache and changing:
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = 30
nglayout.initialpaint.delay = 0

Unfortunately, it is not fixing my problem.

Re: Firefox is Slow

Have you got a lot of extensions? If Yes, maybe some of them are working in the background that you're not aware of.

Open your Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and take a look at how much memory Firefox is using under 'Processes'.

You could also try opening Firefox in Safe Mode and make a comparison from the Task Manager.

Have you got other programs working in the background aslo? Basically, anything working in the background will slow Firefox, and anything else.

I didn't think many people bothered with Tweaking Firefox anymore, obviously I'm wrong! Anyway, here's a link to a good up to date tweaking guide.
