Firefox wont load certian sites

My firefox won't load certain sites. Like i can get to the google home page, but it refuses to search for anything , just says waiting for google forever.
I also can't go to hotmail.com and some other forums too. But youtube works fine , tsf works fine and some others.

Internet explorer works fine with all the site but I hate internet explorer and I want my firefox to go back to the way it was. I reinstalled a bunch with no change, I tried firefox 3 beta 5 and that still was the same. I tried older versions and still nothing. It can't be my firewall because it set to allow firefox and it was working fine with the firewall on before.

If you use Spybot, take a look at a response I posted in this thread. It might help. It's #4.

FireFox not responding...
