That is right. Matter of fact, the developers of Ubuntu have it bundled in the newest version. The final release should be out in June I believe.

it should not harm your computer. I currently have have the latest beta installed and having no problems with it other than most addons are not working with it yet.
as with any beta software, there is always the possibility that there could be problems.
