won't go past search page
when i open firefox it goes to the firefox/google search engine perfectly. when i type something in and click search, the status bar shows up like its gonna do something for a couple of minutes but then don't. i can go to some of my websites with the dropdown at the address bar but not all. the ones i can go to load perfectly and i can go anywere in the website. i can go to almost any search engine except yahoo. once i get there it does the same thing, it acts like its gonng do something when i click search but doesn't. also sometimes a tab pops up automaticly with a system error fix website and a spyware type message pops up and says that i need to clean my system. adult friend finder pops up sometimes too. it kinda alternates between the two. i have norton 360 and it says that i have no viruses, spyware, or malware. it did say that i did have some browser vunerability threats or attacks or whatever but norton fixes all of that stuff automaticly and it said it fixed it. internet explorer runs slow on my system cause tabs keep opening automaticly trying to open but saying error 404 or something, page not found anyway. does norton support firefox or do you have to configure that yourself? it started messing up when i had xp sp2 but i was switching to vista so i didn't pay it any mind, now i did a clean install with vista and its doing the same thing and i haven't even had it installed for a week yet. will tweaking firefox mess it up in any way? i believe its a virus problem but norton has been working for me for a while and i don't really want to beleive that its starting to slip. any suggestions?

Re: won't go past search page
Don't click on any links in the spyware tabs or 'adult friend finder' popups. It looks like you could be infected. Norton 360 might be saying you're safe, but I wouldn't trust it.
Please follow these instructions (5 pages) and post the requested logs in a new thread here.

Re: won't go past search page
thanks for the help. i couldn't even get to my email to check the message for that scan site. i couldn't go to hotmail or yahoomail (ain't that ironic). i ended up deleting norton and now i use bitdefender total security 2008. i did a deep scan before i went to bed and restarted when i woke up to complete the removal of the viruses. it works fine for now and i didn't have to reinstall firefox so i guess its fixed. (once again, for now). thanks again.
