Re: Opening firefox results in windows low virtual memory

How much RAM do you have, and what are your swap file (virtual memory) settings?

Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Performance Settings button > Advanced tab > Virtual Memory Change button

How much RAM do you have?

Go back to the Virtual Memory Change button, select Custom Size and set both Initial and Maximum to 4096mb, click the Set button, then OK out of these windows and reboot to complete.

I have 512MB which now makes sense! I'll try it and let you know.

Re: Opening firefox results in windows low virtual memory

As you're a web developer, you probably have a few Firefox addons and themes installed. Removing the unnecessary ones will help reduce the amount of memory Firefox uses, which can grow quite high (mine is at 137mb at the moment). There are other tweaks available to reduce the memory used by FF, but another gig of RAM would help more than anything.
