Various Sites not recognising Firefox logon's or passwords etc

I have recently upgraded and have found that various sites will not accept passwords and usernames submitted when using Firefox. Such as, online banking, ebay etc
I am waiting a reply from the forum at mozilla.com but nothing yet.
The way round it as I have done is to open up IE6 and you will be able to log in ok.

I have disabled all extensions/add-ons and have enabled cookies and changed the site referrer in "about:config" to 2, still no difference.

Any pointers?????

Re: Various Sites not recognising Firefox logon's or passwords etc

Hi palmbay, welcome to TSF

2 things spring to mind. Cookies and ActiveX.

As you have enabled cookies, do you have any Firefox addons installed that change the default cookie settings or delete stored cookies at the end of each browsing session?

In Tools > Options > Privacy, is the 'Always clear my private data when I close Firefox' option enabled? If so, click the Settings button and remove the checkmark from Cookies.

These sites could be using ActiveX, which is not supported by Firefox for security reasons. You can get round this by installing the IE-Tab addon, which allows you to view IE-only websites in Firefox.
