Hi. I'm using Firefox version 2.0.0.13. Around Sunday or Monday I foolishly downloaded some file from a site I can't remember the name of, which supposedly bundles Mozilla and Google Toolbar together. The file's name is FirefoxGoogleToolbarSetup.exe. Oh, the Google Toolbar version is 3.0.20070525W.
I already had Firefox installed, just not the toolbar. When it finished installing, I realized that the toolbar wasn't really worth having, so I tried uninstalling it, but it would only reappear as though it's just been newly installed whenever I restarted Firefox. I tried uninstalling from Firefox's add-ons window and from the toolbar itself. The toolbar program wasn't listed in the add/remove programs list in the control panel. I even tried uninstalling Firefox, only to find the toolbar there when I reinstalled it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really want to get rid of this thing. It just doesn't seem healthy. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks! |

Re: Can't uninstall Google Toolbar
Hello, Welcome to TSF.
Try following these steps: 1. Click "Tools" at the top of your browser window. 2. If you’re running Firefox 2, select "Add ons.” Otherwise, select “Extensions.” 3. Select "Google Toolbar for Firefox" and click "Uninstall." |

Thanks for responding, but I'd already mentioned doing that in my original post and it not working. Whatever program I downloaded wasn't a clean version of the toolbar.
However, I've more or less solved it by uninstalling Firefox and deleting the profile folders, etc. that still linger on the computer, and then reinstalled it. I backed up my bookmarks prior to uninstalling. The annoying toolbar is gone and everything is fine now! |
