Hyperlinks don't work in Thunderbird/Firefox - Page 2

Thx fluteman ( If you are not sure you have set Firefox as your default browser you can force it to be default browser by clicking Start > Run
then enter text > firefox.exe -silent -setDefaultBrowser ) this worked for me. your the best !!!

Hi guys,

Just to inform you I had this problem but the above did not fix it for me.

However I did get it to work evenbually by doing this:

1) Open Outlook Express 6, Select Tools > Options > Towards the bottom make Outlook Express 6 the default email client

2) Exit Outlook Express 6

3) Load Thunderbirds and set it as your default client and now everything works :)

Sorry should have said this before, Outlook Express 6 is in your start menu (comes with XP). Unsure on Vista.

Have used T-Bird/FF (both latest versions) combo for several years, both set as defaults- no real problems. However just the last few weeks(with nothing changed?) I now have the same hyperlinks failure problem. Nothing happens when I click in T-bird, but when I cut and paste into FF, works fine. I see the http: address in the lower window so I know my cursor is seeing it. Hyperlinks work fine in all other apps, just T-bird a problem. Followed ALL the suggestions above- no joy. Help!

BTW, Thunderbrowse does not work either as an internal browser or selecting FF as the external browser.

Answering myself twice. Thunderbrowse does indeed work in both modes once I set all the parameters. It defaulted to only looking for FF.exe on my C: drive instead of the whole computer. Had to set it manually to the correct D: drive location. It didn't fix the original non-working hyperdrive problem, but is a slick workaround.
