"A copy of Firefox is already open"

Hi there...I used to use Mozilla Firefox but after a reboot I have found it wont start up anymore. It keeps telling me "A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time". I am using a Macbook with OS X and have never had this problem before. I have uninstalled it and re-installed but still the same problem. Also tried re-boot and "Force-Quit" but NOTHING. Please help.

Sounds like a locked Profile.
Go HERE for how to troubleshoot it.
