[SOLVED] New XP install: Need bookmarks from old XP files

I have recently installed 2 new SATA hard drives in Raid 0 configuration... I then proceeded to re-install Windows XP on the new drives. I still have the old XP installation on the old IDE drives (raid 0). I can select which set of drives to boot from during boot-up. However it is getting tiresome switching drives just to have access to old bookmarks.

Can someone please tell me how to get my bookmarks from the old installation to the new? I have tried to copy the bookmark.html file from the old to the new... no change to the new bookmark file. I tried to copy the entire Mozilla Firefox folder from the old installation to the new. I still have the new bookmark list.

I read the post above about MozBackup. Can I use that across different drives. (backup on one set of drives, restore to another?)

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide

Re: New XP install: Need bookmarks from old XP files

On your old hard drive the bookmarks should be located here:

C:\Documents and Settings\ profile/user name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\ random letters.slt\bookmarks.html

I personally would log in to your old drive and burn to a disk a copy of the bookmark file. Then restart into the other drive. Then...
  • open FireFox
  • click Bookmarks
  • click Organize BookMarks
  • click File
  • Import
  • select From File then click Next
  • navigate to the bookmark location you wish to import into FireFox - in your case, the CD
  • select the file then click Open

Let us know if this helps.
