problem connecting

my sister just updated to the latest version of firefox today, before which she was online, assuming she didn't do anything she didn't tell me to her computer, I believe that

after she updated, firefox can't connect to any sites, says that the server might be busy, check connections, etc...

internet explorer can't connect either, but strangely enough, her AIM works

checked the firewall, reset the router and comp, checked firefox options, nothin

I was able to ping google just fine from her computer, as well as the default gateway, and my laptop is connected to the same wireless network that her computer is, and is workin on it just fine

I'm stumped, ideas?

Re: problem connecting

Thats odd.. Did you try reinstalling Firefox?
If that doesn't help maybe a System Restore, since more than one of your programs were affected.

Re: problem connecting

Ok, try this
1. Close Firefox/Thunderbird/Mozilla Suite
2. Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall
3. General tab - Make sure the firewall is switched on and "Don't allow exceptions" is unchecked.
4. Exceptions tab - Find the Firefox/Thunderbird/Mozilla Suite entry and delete it.
5. Check the box next to "Display a notification when Windows Firewall blocks a program".
6. Click "OK" to exit the Windows Firewall window.
7. Start Firefox/Thunderbird/Mozilla Suite.
8. Windows Firewall should then ask whether you want to keep blocking or unblock. Select "Unblock".
