[SOLVED] Quicktime doesn't work with Firefox
I always get the gray image with a "Q" whenever I try watching a video. I have the latest versions of both Quicktime and Mozilla Firefox.
What could be the problem? |

Re: Quicktime doesn't work with Firefox
I believe that there's a Quicktime Plugin for firefox .. at least I was directed to download it one time I tried to run a quicktime element. A quick google though for references or a download source showed some negative feedback with problems in installing and not working properly.

Re: Quicktime doesn't work with Firefox
I figured she already had the Quicktime plugin for Firefox. You might also want to check in Tools -> Options -> Content tab -> Manage button to make sure Quicktime files are being handled by Quicktime. Or you could try a different program if you want to tinker around with it and see what happens. You also might want to check out what's in the Advanced tab, if anything.

Actually.. I had the same problem, "question mark" showing and video doesnt play etc...
The solution is to go to firefox > tools > options > applications and then, Under Content-Type/QuickTime Movie.... I switched the "Action" setting from "Use QuickTime Plugin 7.5" to "Use QuickTime Player (default)" Now the movies play inside my browser just fine. (dont worry, the player wont actually open) I usually use it to watch movie trailers at apple.com/quicktime thats it!!!! woot! Last edited by tj_in_seattle; 07-11-2008 at 09:34 PM. Reason: spelling |
