Mozilla Firefox Start Page
Whenever I go to my home page a tab comes up with a Google Icon followed by Mozilla Firefox Start Page. How do I prevent this unwanted tab from coming up? Thanks.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Start Page
bhahar84: Not exactly because I use My Yahoo! as my home page and the URL looks like this (pagehttp://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official) when I click on the Mozilla Firefox Start Page Tab. The Firefox Start window for a Gooogle Search is displayed with the icon as in your example. I'm sorry I don't know how to copy it so you can actually see it. Thanks for your prompt response.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Start Page
Hi again carlybaby!!
![]() Ok, actually the address of yours and mine is redirect to the same page eventhough it is a little bit different. Can you try to open that again, and erase the address on the address bar there, and paste this one there: Code:
http://cm.my.yahoo.com/?rd=nux Try to browse any website, and click on Home button. Is it working now?

Code:
http://www.yahoo.com/ Try to type that as a homepage, close Firefox, and try to open Firefox again. Is it going to Yahoo page?

Re: Mozilla Firefox Start Page
It still keeps coming up but I don't want to take up any more of your time because it's really just a minor nuisance, certainly not a big deal. It's not worth spending any more time on it. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Start Page
Carlybaby, I didn't have this problem until I installed the latest (June 2009) Firefox on a MacOS, 10.5.
I found that the simplest way to solve this is to edit your Firefox preferences. For some reason Firefox (now) adds on it's "desired" start page to your home page. All you have to do it remove it. Edit the preferences: Firefox (menu bar) -> Preferences ->Main (tab) ->Home Page:. Whatever is there, put whatever home page URL you want. Mine showed "http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en" .AND. a "pipe" (unix) "|" and whatever the link is for the Firefox home page. (Sorry, I already got rid of it before copying it to here. Basically, it was "http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en|<Firefox Start Page>". Paste whatever your home page is, or if the first part is your home page, just delete everything after and including the pipe "|" character. PReine |
