[SOLVED] New Desktop Folders
When I use Firefox to browse and I am on a site that I want to save to my Desktop as a shortcut I not only get the shortcut but a new file folder named for the shortcut placed on my desktop.
Tried removing or moving the folder to another location to keep my desktop a little neater but the shortcut also disappears when I fool with the folder. What can I do with the folder clutter? Am I not saving the shortcut in the proper manner? I don't recall IE doing this. |

Re: New Desktop Folders
What FF is doing is saving the website, along with most of what is on it. If you look through the folders you will realise that it contains various parts of the website (eg images).
I think you would be better of using bookmarks. If you do want to save shortcuts (This is a slightly longer way, but it works) 1. Right click on your desktop 2. Point to new, then click Shortcut 3. In the box that pop's up, paste the URL of your website 4. Click next 5. Give is a meaningful name and click Finish You will have a shortcut on your desktop then, which when clicked on will open the URL in your default browser.
