[SOLVED] "The Connection Was Reset" Page Error??

Every time i try to load an Http page i get "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading"
Now i know my router in fine and my adapter is working because i can access Https (Secured sites), Online Games and Instant Messengers but everything else seems to be a no go now??

Ie is also the same but i am confused as to what could be causing it. I am currently on another computer run off the same router and this is obviously working fine.

I didnt change any settings simply left my computer on and working and when i returned No http pages would load. In the time i left the computer the only thing i can think of that happend were a few power surges but this may well be a concidence.

i have tried ip resets and loads of other solutions to similar problems i have seen but nothing has worked for me yet

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Dan

Ok. First try uninstalling firefox completely which means going into your program files and deleting the mozilla folder etc. After this reinstall.

That or create a new profile in the profile manager and this should clear the problem.

You could also run firefox in safe mode to see if it is an extension you installed that could be the problem.

Re: "The Connection Was Reset" Page Error??

Thanks for the reply but got still got nothing. I only tried the creating a new profile through the profile manager but i think the problem is "deeper" than that as it persists through all browsers. i think ill have to bring my pc downstairs to the router and try running firefox in safe mode its just a pain :( but i need to sort it.
and again thanks for getting back to me :D

I am having the same exact problem. Both the IE and Mozilla just wont work anymore now. I know its not the internet connection because i am using my laptop and using the same connection.

Re: "The Connection Was Reset" Page Error??

Hey, sorry i didn't post the solution, It was actually very simple but was something i let slip as i could see no reason for it happening, It was the Anti virus i was running "Avast!" it had obviously updated while i was out and was for some reason blocking access to HTTP sites, closing Avast! didn't do it, it had to be completely removed until i had everything working again.

Hope this helps

I really should have Tried this first. Oops
