Firefox and IE problems

I have been a loyal user of firefox for over a year and a half, and havent looked back at IE since. However it seems that whenever I'm in firefox, iexplorer always finds a way to rear its ugly little head with popups every so often. It's even worse when I open up IE. Any input on this would be helpful

Re: Firefox and IE problems

When you say pop-ups are you meaning advertising pop-ups?

If so, then please follow the instructions in MicroBell's 5 Step Process found here

Then start a new thread here. The Hijackthis Log Help forum is always busy so please be patient.

I don't get it. Are you saying that IE starts itself up while you're using Firefox? If so you've definitely got some malware on board. Unless you're in a weird situation (such as myself, with a dial-up ISP that only works with IE), you should be able to use Firefox without IE running at all.

Have you downloaded/installed the add-on AdBlock Plus into your Firefox?

Re: Firefox and IE problems

I am having the same problem. Yes IE opens itself up while I'm using firefox, and it's with adds.

I'm going to try the 5 step process thing, hopefully it will work. But will keep an eye open on this thread in case anyone comes up with other suggestions.
