I have both IE 6 and Firefox 2 installed on my PC. Firefox is the default browser (as well as my browser of choice). However, there are certain times that I NEED to use IE to look at a web page.
PROBLEM: When I type a URL in IE 6 it automatically opens the web page in Firefox. The only thing that I can do with Internet Explorer is open it. I can't visit any websites. If I type the URL into IE (or use a bookmark), it automatically opens the site in Firefox. This just started happening a few weeks ago and I can't think of any changes that I've made to my PC that would cause this to happen. Any suggestions? P.S. I don't want to upgrade to IE 7 Thanks! |

Re: IE 6 redirecting to Firefox - help!
I'm new here so take anything I say with a grain of salt. That much having been said, I've used Firefox for sometime now and have had very little trouble. When I specifically need to use IE (Grr!!) I go in and temporarily change the default browser from Firefox to IE. Believe, I don't leave it that way for long. You might want to have a word processing program (ex: Open Office) minimized in the tray at the bottom to copy/paste url's on so as not to loose them while you make the default changes.
You can't hurt your computer by making these temporary changes I suggested and it might just solve your problem. |
